inexpressible and glorious joy?

"These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls."
1 Peter 1:7-9

But the thing is, being with Jesus isn't always about how we feel. It's about so much more than that! It's about sticking with him even when it feels weird, even when we feel sad, even when it's hard. It's about KNOWING the worth of continuing on, because that inexpressible and glorious joy will be back. And it's about all of this because Jesus didn't die on the cross just for our emotions--although these are huge!--it's about all of this so that we can glorify him by showing--in our actions and in our faith and in our longing for this inexpressible and glorious joy--that we believe him...
