deep breaths required

As I sit here eating my floppy, greasy, nuked pizza; I think to myself, "Oh wow."

Sometimes I'm not hungry...

even for spaghetti.

drink it in

Some of you might know this song:

This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Drink in the words. Hear it. Let it permeate into your thoughts.

That's right, it's more than a kid's song.
.
It means something.
.
I'm going to let my light shine. That's what I sang.
I'm going to let people know that I am a Christian,
that I love the Lord,
that I trust in Him,
that I want to serve Him and Him only.
That's what I was saying, wasn't it?
That I'm going to love you as Christ loves you.
.
.
But I don't.

for the record

Julia is the photographer, not me. Almost all of the pictures on this blog (so far) are taken by my wonderfully talented sister, Julia Diane Muis. Including the sweet starfish one on the sidebar.

Yay Julia!

to Maria

Thanks for sticking with me for four years.
Thanks for struggling through DomRep plans.
Thanks for listening to me talk about certain things with minimal amounts of teasing.

Here's to you, Maria.

breaking news

Did you know they had Britannica Encyclopedia online?

It is truly astounding that I did not know of this until today.

I can count to "g"

1 2 3 4. Count 'em. Four. In short, Christopher is a bozo. He was at work, sitting on boxes and swinging his feet. [I don't know why he was doing this in the first place as he should have been working cough cough] In doing so, he kicked a piece of wire mesh and sliced his foot open, resulting in four stitches. Yeah, that's what happened. He was sitting on the job, swinging his feet, and he kicked something. Wow. This type of thing can only happen to Christopher. Or me. And, in this case, I'm quite happy it wasn't me.

return to the dust

Men have turned to comforts of earthly lust,
They've given themselves to pleasing the world.
And none can stop the return to the dust.

In serving the Lord, those joints now have rust.
It was long ago that man's will had curled.
Men have turned to comforts of earthly lust

God's justice is right, His anger is just.
Men claim innocence; they see a dream-world.
And none can stop the return to the dust.

He sent us His Son but we said, "No Christ!"
He gave us all things, yet from Him we whirled.
Men have turned to comforts of earthly lust.

Beleive in the Christ for salvation we must
Or deep into depths we shall all be hurled.
And none can stop the return to the dust.

Though men may fight they shall be crushed;
Only His banner will be left unfurled.
Men have turned to comforts of earthly lust.
And none can stop the return to the dust.

now-limited-amount-of-wall

I explored my house today and found a box. This box was full of incriminating evidence regarding the childhood of the children Muis. These are my favourite boxes and it is always enjoyable to me to go through them. There are several "classic" items that I enjoy to read(journals from elementary school). However, I saw today some things I had never seen before (cards to mom or dad from Daniel and Julia upon which each state that they love said individual more than the other).

I learned that I once wrote a story about a rabbit and a fox(? I think it was a fox...). In this story, the rabbit has a picnic basket and doesn't know where to have his picnic so he asks the fox where he should have it and the fox tells him to have it in the river. So he does and, as a result, he gets "socking wet" [as I so eloquently put it]. Therefore, the moral of the story is: "Don't listen to other people's advice".

I also found invitations from my parents' wedding, so I took one and placed it on the now-limited-amount-of-wall in my room. Another item which joined the collage that is my bedroom is a card from my eldest sister, Christina, to me regarding my fourth birthday.

I discovered pictures of all the children Muis from back when we were little and cute. They too will soon join the cause of eliminating any wall-space in my bedroom.

...
I don't know what I'll do when my wall becomes full.

However, I recently discovered that the ceiling is just another wall, but horizontal, why can't I continue my collage on it?

Philippians 2:5-11

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.

And being found in appearance as a man
he HUMBLED himself

and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!

Therefore GOD exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,

that at the name of JESUS every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

and every tongue confess that JESUS CHRIST is Lord
to the glory of GOD the Father.

iff

You know the people that you sometimes see wearing pants that are some weird bright colour and you think to yourself, "Whatever could have possessed him to wear those?!" ?

I hope that one day I will be one of those people who wears pants that are some weird bright colour and people will think about me, "Whatever possessed her to wear those?!".

Sad thing is, I don't think it will be anytime soon, unless I go shopping and get some pants that are some weird bright colour so that I can wear them. Then the previously mentioned phenomenon may, perhaps repeatedly, occur.

[The double "f" in "iff" was intentional.]
